Harris's 1st day of School / Thanksgiving 2007

Harris started his first day at Abernethy Preschool on Monday, his two month birthday. He did such a good job. We also went for his two month checkup this week. Harris weighs 14 lbs 13 oz and is 25 inches long. Everything looks good. We're waiting till next week to find out if we have to go see an urologist.

"Don't worry brother, I'll be there to take care of you."

After a long day, all Harris wanted to do was chill and suck his thumb.

Harris's first Thankgiving. Woo hoo!

All Nick & Harris's cousins

One more Cadwallader to give thanks for this year.

Nick wasn't too sure when Big Mama showed him Tom the Turkey.

Of course we couldn't get through the day without one Nickism - he pulled all the dental floss out of its container.

Harris isn't too sure about his Uncle Dan (Uncle Dan isn't too sure about Harris either)

MacGyver

I don't usually post 2 blog updates on Sunday, but this one was too good. Nick has discovered how to get ANYTHING he wants. Just watch and see. Chris has nicknamed him "MacGyver" the secret agent from an 80's television show. We have no idea what we're going to do with this child...

Leaves / Fun Times/ Brothers

We've been reading about Clifford the Big Red Dog and his friends jumping into a pile of leaves. Chris decided to rake some leaves up for Nick so he could play too.

Nick has a new, bad habit. If he wants something, he just goes and gets it (with or WITHOUT permission). The other day, he wanted something to eat. Here's how Chris and I found him - eating Cool Whip right out of the bowl.

Nick has his first girlfriend, Maddie. He even got his first kiss. Aaah.

People have started commenting how much Harris is starting to look like Nick. I still think he looks just like his daddy. For fun, I took Harris's picture wearing the same outfit as Nick when he was the same age. There is definitely a family resemblance, expecially in the cheeks.

Nick - 2 months

Harris - 8 Weeks

And another great parenting moment with the Cadwalladers...

Good news with Harris's belly button. We had to go 2 weeks ago to check it out because tissue was coming through from inside. The doctor used silver nitrate to help minimize it, and when we went this past Tuesday, it was all cleared up. Harris is now 14 lbs 6 oz. We go back this Tuesday for his 2 months shots. Poor little guy.

Science Center / Birthday Parties

Nick has a new fascination with sharks, so Chris and I took him to the aquarium at the Catawba Science Center on Friday. He loved it!!!

Harris went along too. I think his smile means he had fun too.
On Saturday, Nick's friend Alyssa turned 4. She had a party at Foothills Gymnastics. Nick had an awesome time jumping in the foam pit and swinging from the rope.

Chris had fun too!

Then it was off to another birthday party. Miss Ivy turned 1!!!
Here's Harris hanging out with Julie and Maddie.

Biltmore / Birthday / Fingerpainting

We went to the Biltmore House in Asheville on Friday to watch them carry the giant Christmas tree into the great hall. Nick enjoyed the seeing the horses more than the tree though.

I turned 33 on Saturday. Woo Hoo!!! My boys were happy to help me celebrate.
Nick dressed up for church.
Important parenting lesson #103 - Never leave finger paint in your child's room where he can reach it. Chris and I laid Nick down for a nap on Sunday, and when I went to check on him, he greeted me with, "Mommy, look, I'm painting!" Oh yes, RED PAINT ALL OVER THE CARPET, WALL, AND NICK. I couldn't fuss at him though because it was my fault. Trust me, I learned this lesson very well.
