Zippers

Today, Nick discovered zippers. Yes, zippers. He zipped and unzipped his pajamas for almost an hour. And if that wasn't enough, he ripped open his top after unzipping to show off his chest. I hope this isn't the start of a career choice later in life.

Christmas 2006

Wow, Christmas is such a busy time of year. We started opening presents on Saturday night with my friend Zach. I got a really cool Elmo tool belt. Don't I look cute?

Zach also helped me dump ALL of my play balls out. What a mess!

Finally we settled down to read.

The next day, we went to Nana and PeePaw's for more presents. I kinda like this opening present thing. I got one of my favorite toys, a TRUCK!!!

We all went to church on Christmas Eve. Mommy crossed her fingers and hoped that I would behave myself. I did.

On Christmas morning, I got to open presents with Mommy and Daddy. I'm getting really good at this ripping paper off stuff. First I opened my Thomas the Train, which I immediately had to try out.

I kept opening. I got a cool dump truck and one of my favorite books, "Goldi is Mad". It has a little boy named Nicholas in it - just like me.

Mommy would like to point out what her house looked like before and after I started opening gifts.

I love you Mommy.

Later that day, we headed over to Grandma and Big Dan's. I got to play with the snoring Santa.

Grandma and Big Dan got me a Tickle me Elmo. That was one crazy toy. Goldi the dog DID NOT like Elmo.

I called Santa on my John Deere cell phone to thank him for all my gifts.

Later I tried to ride Mommy and Daddy's new mailbox. They weren't so happy about that.

My uncle Dan gave me a lift then let me play with his Silly Putty. That stuff feels weird.

Finally I posed for a family picture.

Happy Holidays to everyone and a Happy New Year!

Abernethy CDC Christmas Party

I've been such a busy boy getting ready for Christmas. Yesterday, we had our Christmas party at playschool. Zach and I had a great time.

As we were leaving daycare, I decided to sit down in the biggest puddle in the parking lot. I had to ride home with no pants (Mommy is starting to see a trend here).

When I got home, Mommy and Daddy had a surprise for me. They turned one of the extra bedrooms into a PLAY ROOM all for me! I have a ball bin which is lots of fun.

I also have a table with chairs. Mommy isn't sure if I'll get to keep the chairs though because I keep standing on them.

Thanks Daddy!

Nick as an Elf

Today was my play at Abernethy CDC. My class acted out the book "Jingle Babies". I got to play an elf. Mommy was afraid I was going to act like a donkey.

I did a great job though. Grandma, Big Dan, Nana, and PeePaw all came to see my big performance.

Christmas with the Grubers (and my cousin Casidy)

We celebrated Christmas with the Timmerman / Gruber families this weekend. Mommy, Daddy, and I spent the night in Raleigh with my cousins Meredith and Chris. I got to spend some time with my cousin Casidy. She's pretty cute for a girl.

Mommy thought the sign saying, "Dear Santa, define good" is rather amusing with me sitting right next to it. I don't know why.

We went to my Great Aunt Bethy and Uncle Tom's house for lunch and to open PRESENTS!!! Thanks for all my cool stuff.

I really wanted to take Casidy's tricycle and cousin Chris's cow home with me. MMMM.

I don't know why Big Dan is wearing that funny hat.

We also had to get some family pictures of me with Mommy and Daddy and with GRANDMA!!!

(Mommy wants to thank Chris and Meredith for taking ALL the pictures this past weekend. Mommy didn't even unpack her camera.)
