Tweetsie / Skateland / Swinging

Cara is becoming quite the character. Here she is at 16 weeks trying to pull her sock off.
Harris's new obsession is sunglasses. He carries them everywhere and even insists on wearing them during meals.

We took our first trip to Tweetsie this past Friday. It's really the first time Harris has been old enough to ride most of the things. He DID NOT like the Ferris Wheel or the Tilt a Whirl.

The cars, he loved.

Is it our turn yet?

This was before Harris started screaming every time it went around.

Giddup horsie!

Poor Nick. He's got his face in his hands, like "Gee, what did I do this time?"

The thumb is in the mouth, so you know the kid's just about had enough fun for the day.

They did love riding on the train. Harris kept saying choo, choo.

When we go home that afternoon, Harris found his blankie and laid down on the floor to let us know he was DONE!!!

Saturday brought another fun adventure to the Cadwallader's - A birthday party at SKATELAND! Harris did pretty well, but he had the over the shoe skates which didn't move quite as fast.
He's UP...

and now he's DOWN!

Happy Birthday Jack!
Nick really thought he could skate before we got there. He was telling us he could go forwards and backwards. Then he actually put the skates on. It has to be one of the funniest things I've seen lately. He kept falling down.
And what kind of parent would I be if I didn't get it on video?

Even Chris attempted to skate (also a fun show).

Saturday night brought birthday party #2. Cara got to get in a swing for the first time. She really seemed to like it, so we bought her a PINK swing for our house the next day.

Me and AJ and the babies (Nick and Zach were too busy playing to stop for a picture).

Cara Update / Booty Shaking / Swimming with Friends

I'm posting twice this week - Here's our family adventure part one for the week.
Check out our zoo trip below!

Everyone loves Harris. He reminds us of Chris Farley from SNL - Harris is a cubby guy with a huge personality. Here he is in his studly attire.
And shaking it...
Cara is 15 weeks old here. She looked so cute in her "little sister" shirt. Unfortunately, she started running a fever right after this was taken and was put back on an antibiotic. She's so much happier now.

"Talking" for the video camera

Our friends Lauren and Lisa came over Friday afternoon to go swimming while Chris was playing golf. The kids had a super time till Harris threw up banana chunks into the pool. That was pretty gross. Later we found out that had been his THIRD banana within 2 hours. No wonder... He recovered though, and we all made it to the zoo the next day.

Zoo Crew 2009

Harrison's toddler class at school went on a field trip to the Columbia Zoo on Saturday. What a great time!
Nick's class had gone to the Lazy Five Ranch when he was in the toddler class. My how Nick has grown in two years. If you look close, you can see Harris still in my stomach.
Miss Amanda made the cutest shirts for this kids. They even had their names on them (I guess she thought we might lose a kid). I got one of Nick's 4T undershirts, but even that was too small for Harris's stomach.
Okay mom, I'm strapped in and ready for some fun!

Chris holding Nick tightly by the hand so he couldn't run off.
Or on his shoulders so he could see all the animals.
Me and Lisa with our toddlers.
Look, birds.

Harris and I enjoyed watching the elephants play in the mud.
First we sat on a bronze turtle.

Then we saw a real live gigantic turtle. Nick wanted to pet it, but we told him it might eat him.
Harris & Lauren Harris & Nick

Harris was so tired, he had BOTH thumbs in his mouth.
Nick was so excited because he "found" Nemo!
Nick decided to pull the little kids in the stoller with very little help from the daddies.
Nick and I really enjoyed feeding the giraffes. He said that was his favorite part of the day.

Lions, no tigers, and marsupials, oh my!

The monkeys were doing some very dirty things while we were there. Chris and I were glad the kids were too young to ask about that.
Uncle Paul sneaking up on Nick and threatening to throw him in.
Nick even smiled a real smile with me.
(Maybe he was scared Uncle Paul really would throw him in).

An awesome tram rode us through the zoo when we got tired.

Aaah, a picture with my hubby.

Me and Lis survived our day with the animals. No one even offered to put our kids in one of the cages.

Nick was OUT on the way home from the zoo!

And of course, my Harris, still smiling at the end of the day!
