Tweetsie Again / Week 27

Nick was such a brave boy with his surgery on Tuesday. He's done really well with his belly button and only complains once in a while that it hurts. It's still covered by a giant bandaid, so we don't know what the new and improved belly button looks like.

Because he went through such a big event earlier this week, we decided to take him to Tweetsie on Friday with his friend Zach (and Zach's parents) for a day of fun.

Here are the boys in jail. We really hope this isn't a preview of what's to come!

Chris and I each rode the little cars with Nick and learned an important fact: these cars are not made for pregnant women (I couldn't get out) or for people over 6 feet tall (Chris couldn't fit his legs in - as you can see where he has one leg propped up on the side).

Week 27 -
This is a big week. We've entered our third trimester and are beginning the countdown. It doesn't really feel like much of a countdown since I've still got 3 more months to go. Harris weighs about 2 1/2 - 3 pounds now and is about 14 1/2 -15 inches long. I go to the doctor on Thursday for another checkup. I have to take my diabetes test, which I'm not at all worried about. I am afraid she'll fuss at me because I've put on more than my 5 pound weight gain total for this month. Oh well, I do love my ice cream, and I'm still around 10 pounds lighter than I was when I was pregnant with Nick around 27-28 weeks.

Nick's Herniated Belly Button Surgery

Nick had his belly button hernia surgery Tuesday. Dr. Locke said that it was a larger hernia than he had expected, but there were no problems.

Here's are two BEFORE shots...

Check out the lovely gown and yellow socks
Playing Thomas to keep him occupied
Checking his oxygen levels

Cheesing for the camera (he was much happier going in than coming out)

Off he goes...
Poor, Nick

Fun with Zach / Father's Day / Week 26

My friend Zach came over this week to play. We jumped in the bouncer and swam in the pool. Fun, fun!!!

This weekend, I spent time helping daddy.

First we watched golf together.

Then I helped him by the pool deck.

Mommy went swimming with me later because I was such a good helper.

For Father's Day, we went out to Big Dan and Big Mama's. I rode in Big Dan's boat and even got to drive. We tried to ride Daddy's jetski, but it wouldn't start so Mommy, Daddy, and I floated into the lake until Uncle Dan rescued us and let us use his jetski.

Later, I watched Uncle Dan go swimming with Khaki and ate some yummy ice cream.

Week 26 -
Harris is about 2 1/2 pounds now and 14 or so inches long. He's really been kicking. I am starting to distinguish feet from other body parts. It's hard to believe I've still got 14 more weeks to go.

Lazy 5 Ranch / Week 25

Nick's class at Abernethy Daycare went to the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville Saturday to look at some of the animals they have been learning about in class. The kids got to ride on a horse-drawn wagon and feed the animals.

Check out my fish hat, I won't actually wear it, but isn't it cute?

Family Picture Time

Isn't there an animal that puts its head in the sand? I want to be him!

Feeding the Animals

Upset he can't feed the zebra because it bites.

Watching the fish swim in the pond

My absolute favorite Daddy & Nick picture

What a fun trip! Nick was so worn out he slept on the way home.

Week 25 -
Harris is starting to put on some fat now. He weighs between 1 1/2 - 2 lbs and is about 13 1/2 inches long. He is really kicking around now. I really wish he'd stop doing it at 5 in the morning though.
