Raspberries / Bonding

Nick decided several months ago that he no longer needed his crib and crawled out of it. Chris and I bought him a toddler bed hoping it would last a year or two. Nope! He can lift the mattress up and walk between the slats. We decided maybe it was time for a really big boy bed and bought him a twin sized one. The actual bed part hasn't been made, but he is sleeping in his new bed for the first time. I really like it because now I can read to both my boys in it before they go to sleep.

Our favorite, Clifford the Big Red Dog

Harris

Buffalo Tongue

Poor thing, he was so tired from playing, he fell asleep.

Harris's newest thing to do is blow raspberries. His shirt and bib are constantly wet. Nick thinks it's hilarious though.

Harris is 4 Months Old

I don't usually update twice in a week, but Harris is 4 MONTHS OLD!!! We went to the doctor today. My "baby" weighs 18 pounds (90%) and is 27 1/2 inches long (100%). He isn't going to be my baby much longer. Harris has developed a flat spot on the back of his head (I'm sure it's from all the sleeping). We are going to have to be careful whenever he's on his back that he isn't lying on that spot. We also have to make an appointment with the urologist to get his circumcision corrected.

To celebrate his 4 month birthday, Harris rolled over! We've been working on it the past week and Saturday, he just rolled. I missed the first time too. One minute he was playing and when I looked again, he was on his tummy. Go Harris! Now he's a rolling fool. Everytime we put him on his back he rolls. Guess I'll be watching him a little more closely on the changing table.

Harris Rolling Over (sorry about the video taping)

And then there's Nick... Harris threw up on his bouncer, so after we took the cover off, Nick had to explore it.

Later, he relaxed in Harrison's car seat to read a book.

Then I guess he was afraid someone would STEAL his books, so he put them down his pants. I really feel sorry for his future kindergarten teacher.

SNOW!!!

There wasn't a whole lot going on last Saturday for once, so we headed to the Science Center to see the fish, shark, and watch a show at the Planetarium. Fun times!

On Thursday, we got SNOW!!! I can't remember the last time we got a good snow. Nick was so excited that we bundled up at 7:45 am to go out and play for a few minutes. Later in the day when Chris got home, we went sledding. Hopefully, we'll get some more before winter is over.

Yes, I took BOTH boys sledding down the big hill by our driveway. Harris didn't like it near as much as Nick.

Harris 16 Weeks / Nick

I can't believe Harris is already 16 weeks old. It seems like he was just born yesterday. While he isn't "doing" a lot of stuff, he constantly watches Nick to see what he's doing. We did pull out the jumper and exersaucer this week. Harris seems to enjoy being in them even though he doesn't get the full effect yet.

And well, Nick is still Nick. He wasn't having enough fun jumping off the couch in his playroom, so he decided to put a large ball in front of the couch. After several times of jumping off the couch onto the ball so that it would catapult him across the room, he tried this. I have to admit, he has great coordination. Maybe he'll be a gymnast like his mom one day.

Harris's Funny Faces

Kids are great! Harris is getting so big. He's 3 1/2 months old now and starting to do more and more things each day. His newest things are trying to pull himself up when he's sitting because he's afraid he'll miss something and making faces. For those who I didn't get a chance to tell, all of Harrison's tests came back negative. He has no clotting or bleeding issues. YEA!!!

Here's Harris playing with Lauren on Saturday

And his newest milestone is being able to prop himself on his elbows.

He HATES tummy time. Poor Harrison.

Nick

Guess he's taking after his little brother.

So this week's Nickism... We've been reading a story about Clifford and the Stinky Skunk. Nick's vocabulary is great, but sometimes he still can't say certain letters. For example, the other day he told me Cleo (a dog from the book) was scared of the stinky skunk. Unfortunately, he couldn't say the SK sound so stinky skunk came out "stinky c**t" (you can guess this one). Chris and I (as well as all of our friends) died laughing because no one wants a stinky you know what. I have a video, but didn't think it was appropriate for the blog. I'll just have to save it for when he's dating.

To one of my oldest college friends - Congratulations on your engagement Kim (Hooker). I wish you and Jason all the best.

Ah, the good old days. Wow, we look so young here!
