Christmas 2008

We started off Christmas break with a little bowling. It was Harris's first trip. He did fairly well considering the ball was so heavy. He even took turns with his brother. Afterwards, he had his 15 months check up. He's 31 inches tall and 26 pounds now.

Here's Harrison last Christmas...

And this one. Wow, what a difference a year makes! Here's Harris at Nana and Pepaw's.
Come on brother, let's smile for the camera.
I promise I've been good Santa.
"Aunt Beth" got us the really cool plate to write Santa a letter on. Nick was in a really crappy mood on Christmas Eve and told me Santa was "DIRTY", and he didn't want to write Santa or give him any cookies. Here's Harris letter to Santa instead.

Nick was very excited that Santa didn't forget him after all.
Woo hoo, a barn!

Now Harris doesn't have to share Nick's ride on toy.

I think the morning wore Harris out. It's was only 9:30 in the morning, and he's all ready for a nap.
Nick with his Big Dan.
Of course it was family picture time with my brother, Uncle Dan, and Aunt Andrea.
Big Dan & Big Mama
It was a wonderful Christmas spent with all our family!

Harris has been practicing cheesing for the camera. He's getting to be pretty good.
Two of my oldest girlfriends came over on Friday night, Amanda and Ashley, to catch up. It's had to believe we've been friends for over 20 years.

Week 34 - Cara's about 5 pounds and 18 inches long now.

Christmas Program and Early Holiday Celebration

Nick and Harris are getting ready for the holidays, so I dressed them up to celebrate.

Abernethy Daycare had their annual Christmas Program at church on Tuesday night. Harris's class performed Jingle Babies. Fortunately for us, Harris was able to wear the same elf costume that Nick wore two years ago. Isn't he cute?

Lauren dressed up as a candy cane.

Nick's class performed Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, so Nick was a Reindeer this year.
He was really nervous at first because he couldn't find any of us in the audience.

But once he saw us...

Saturday brought our annual Gruber / Timmerman Christmas get together. We headed to Cary to see our cousins.

Harris didn't even try to take anything off the tree.

Here are the boys with my brother, "Uncle Dan"

We had to bribe the kids with cheese to get them to take this picture, but we finally got Nick and Harris with their cousin Casidy.

Here I am at 33 weeks. Cara's been going nutty in my stomach the past week. I think she turned herself back head down. At least that's what her hiccups felt like the other night. I go back to the doctor at 35 weeks. I can't believe it's almost time.

Haircut / A Box / 32 Week Update

Harris finally got a haircut, well a REAL hair cut. Lisa and I tried to cut it a month or so ago. He DID NOT like it at all. I got two pictures of him getting his protector on before he started screaming. He got his hair actually cut on my lap.

Doesn't he look handsome now? You can't see that the side burns are WAY too short because he moved in mid-trim.

I guess I should have had Nick show him how it was done first.

I think it's interesting that kids love random things. My kids are facinated with a box Chris has in our playroom. Everytime we go upstairs they want to hang out in the box. I tried playing with them in the box and couldn't get out. Thanks goodness no one took a picture of that.

Nick is singing in his daycare Christmas Pageant on Tuesday night. I wanted to hear him practice. I can't believe I actually got this on video. Sorry it's a little long, but he's too funny.

My boys looking festive in their Santa wear.

I had my 32 week checkup this past week. Blood pressure and weight gain still good. My iron count is back down to 10.6, so I'm on another type of medication. Let's hope this one works and doesn't make me sick. Cara has decided to turn herself completely sideways in my stomach. If she doesn't turn head down on her own by 38 weeks, the doctor will try to turn her. Let's hope she cooperates. If anyone knows of any good tips to get a baby to turn, I'm all ears! The doctor also measured me. I think I was measured wrong last time because apparently I've grown 5 cm in two weeks - no way! At my 30 week appt, I was measuring 26 cm and now I'm measuring 31 cm. Not sure if it's a good or bad sign, but I'm measuring bigger with Cara than I did with the boys at the same week of pregnancy. I go back in three weeks to start my weekly check ups and pelvic exams. According to the books, Cara is about four to four and a half pounds now and between 17-19 inches.

Here I am at 32 weeks.

Fun with the Boys / Cara's 4D Ultrasound

The day after Thanksgiving is our family's decorating day. I love decorating, but since having kids, we've had to cut back. I did dress the kids up which was fun.

Have you guys been good this year?

Here's the reason we've had to stop going all out with decorations... Last year Nick broke most of the balls on our tree, so this year we decided we'd be smart and get shatter-proof balls. We had the entire tree lit and ready to go. My sweet Harris decided to bring all the balls he could reach to Mommy. Now only the top half of our tree is decorated.
Thanks, Harris.

We took the boys to their first mini putt putt birthday party last week. It looks like they had fun.

This morning I caught Nick doing this in his bathroom. Guess he was bored.

Chris and I decided we'd take them down to the neighbor's house and wear them out for a while. They loved jumping and being thrown by Daddy into the leaf pile.

Looks like Harris is bringing some with him.

Chris and I went back for our 4-D ultrasound in hopes that Cara would cooperate. She did better. She's still in the breech position, so it was hard to get a great picture. She kept putting her arms, hands, and feet in front of her face.

Here's the best one. We still thinks she looks like Harris with those fat little cheeks.

She is definitely a true Cadwallader though. She gave us the "buffalo tongue" during the ultrasound. In fact, the place keeps a wall of funny photos, and this one made it. We can't wait to meet our sweet baby girl in person in another two months.
