Sleeping Oddities / 23 Weeks

So I've always been amazed at how children sleep. They seem to be able to sleep anywhere and in any position. Here's example one.
And example two. I guess he wasn't kidding when he told me he didn't want to wear his dinosaur pajamas.
Chris and I are celebrating our 4 year anniversary next month, and as a surprise, I bought him a new train. He still has his old one from childhood, but the engine didn't work. I'm not sure who is more excited about our Norfolk Southern Train, Chris or Nick.
Harris is 23 weeks old!!! I took him to the doctor on Thursday. Fortunately, it's just a nasty cold. He weighs 19 lbs 2 oz. Just for fun, I weighed him in his carrier to see how much I've been dragging around lately - 28 pounds!
He's started putting everything into his mouth. I'll be baby proofing the house soon.
My boys hanging out while Daddy was working late.
And yes, those are of course their tongues hanging out.

5 months old / Nick at his Best

Harris is 5 months old!!! I can't believe how big he's getting. He is playing more and more. He can even sit tripod for a while. It won't be long before he's sitting alone. He's pretending to be a Jedi Knight here.

Here's Harris's first boo boo. Nick threw a dog toy and hit him in the head. Harris just scream; Nick spent some quality time in time out. Poor guy.

Nick and his Daddy watching Clifford on Sunday morning.

Monday was Wacky Tacky Day at Nick's school. He was something else.

Check out the Fro!
Making funny faces

Nick decided to climb into Harris's bouncer this week. I think his legs might be a tad too long.

Clifford the Big Red Dog / Valentine's Day

Chris started complaining about Nick's hair getting long. I just think it's funny.
All he needs here is a Member's Only jacket, and he could be part of the "Brat Pack".

Barnes & Noble in Hickory sponsored a Clifford the Big Red Dog story day last Saturday. Nick LOVES Clifford!

Here's Harris at 20 weeks.

We've been reading the Hallow Weiner (one of my favorites) where the main character Oscar, a dachshund, dresses up like a hotdog for Halloween. I pulled out Chloe's old costume just for Nick. When he saw her, he just stopped and looked at me and said, "Mommy, Chloe's a weiner dog too."

Harris just loves his Big Mama

And Nick is the spitting image of Big Dan.

Harris's first Valentine's Day. He started out so happy, and ended up at the doctor with a fever and sinus infection. He is 27 1/2 inches long and 19 lbs.

Playing & Learning

It's getting to be very fun around our house. Nick is starting to interact more with Harris, and Harris is able to do more things in general. Saturday, Chris and I took the boys outside to play. Both of them were able to play in the sandbox. Harris even sat up by himself for a little bit.

Harris is doing really well on his stomach, so we practice it as much as we can. His friend Lauren is going to be crawling soon, so he'd better get ready so he can catch up with her.
Hollywood, here I come!
Nick asked for Harris to ride his gator with him. Not sure why I thought this was a good idea. I didn't let Nick take him anywhere, but I did let Harris sit for a minute. I can just see Nick driving him around the yard this summer (with Harris holding on for his life).

The boys even played ball together a few nights this week (I helped a little). Harris just laughed at his brother.
Harris is starting to reach his bottle when I sit down with him and hold it on his own. My little boy is just growing too fast.
Harris is such a clown. Whenever anyone says his name, he grins really big then sticks out his tongue.

Can't imagine where he learned that from!
We took Harris to an urologist on Thursday to see what needed to be done about his circumcision. The doctor said the first one was incomplete, and he will perform another one to fix the issues this summer when I'm out of school.

My Boys / ABCs

Thursday was Wacky Tacky day at my school. I dressed up like a 1980s video reject. Nick told me I looked pretty. Go figure. He LOVED my plastic charm necklace that I've had since 2nd grade. Here he is modeling it.

Nick has been able to sing his ABCs for a while now, but I never could catch him on video. My favorite part is when he stops mid-song to eat a cracker then picks right back up.
