Cuteness / Friends

I know, Chris is pretty sexy in this picture. He has a tradition. Every year after our annual Sunday School party, he wears whatever was left at the house. He wore this to Sunday School. Notice the pink kid sunglasses. Oh yea baby!
He's all mine!

Hannah and Cara had some girl time in the nursery.

Then Cara tried to roll over on her.

Miss Lauren and Miss Cara in their brown dresses. I think Lisa and I are going to have some serious fun with these girls when they get a little bit older.

Cara had her first playdate this week.

What pretty little ones!

CHOO CHOO!
Nick's been having some really good days at school lately, so Chris and I surprised him with a trip to Tweetsie on Friday.

Yep, I got stuck with the small horse. Stuck is the main word - Chris had to lift me off.

Friday was a sad day for our family. Ms. Amanda left Abernethy for a new job closer to her fiance and new home. Harrison absolutely adores her (we do too), and I know he'll miss her.

Trying his first Doritos, not sure if he's a big fan.

Saturday brought a birthday party for Ben. Harris is checking out how his buddy Zach puts in the baseball.
Is that where it comes out?

Hannah tried out Cara's exersaucer for the first time. She did really well.

Our girls
Amanda and I didn't plan on dressing like twins, but I guess great minds think alike. It's awesome having our girls now after our boys. Cara is already beating up on Hannah like she's the older one. Watch out Amanda, she might lead your daughter astray like you led me!
She was so excited to be sitting in a big person's chair.
I've raved about how much fun I'm having dressing up Cara with cute clothes and bows. I've found a whole new wonderful aspect of having a little girl - SHOES!
Here's Cara wearing the pink Converse shoes Big Mama bought her right after she was born.
And look! She has on butterfly shoes that match her dress. How cute is that!

Sunday School Party / Silliness from the kids

Every year, Chris and I host our class's Sunday School Party. With all the adults and kids, it makes for an awesome day of fun and fellowship. This year proved to be no different. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Daddy and his little girl

Lisa with all the children

Harris

Little Miss Lauren - Funny story about Lauren. As we were dressing the kids downstairs, I took Harris's diaper off so I could put on a swim diaper and his swim trunks. I guess Lauren had never seen a real live penis before because she leaned over to TOUCH Harrison's. You should have seen my and Lis's faces. We were shocked and a little horrified. Both of the kids just giggled (which horrified us even more). We were always worried about Lauren and Nick, but now it looks like we have Harris to worry about too.
And she looks so sweet and innocent.

Nick with Lauren

Harris is OBSESSED with sunglasses! He stole these from Lauren and wore them upside down the entire day. The next day in church, he took her baby blue ones to wear during the service.

It was bow day at our house last week. Nicole???

Harriet???

Cara wearing just her bow with her birthday suit.
So not only is Harris obsessed with sunglasses, he is also obsessed with his crocs. He insists on wearing them to bed. I have to fight him in the mornings to get him to put on sneakers for school. Weird, huh?

What a relief that Harris is learning to walk down the stairs. Nick is such a big helper. Every morning he hold Harrison's hand down the stairs so I can carry Cara. It was getting too much for Mommy to carry Harris on one hip and Cara in her carrier in the other hand.

We all know what a dare devil my oldest son is. Instead of pushing the dump trunk or putting stuff in the truck to dump, he chose to squat in it and ride down the driveway. Well, at least he's creative.

All good Mommies know you shouldn't rush children to eat things they aren't ready for. Well, little miss decided she was going to have a cheese puff by goodness, and so she did. And she LOVED it. Maybe it was just the texture or the funky cheese goodness. Who knows.

Later she tried Ritz cracker. She really enjoyed this too.
Cara loves her baths and her brother Harris. He's splashing her in the tub and she is giggling. I had a better video, but I can't show baby nudity on the blog.
I can't believe Cara is already 24 weeks old. She's figured out how to roll both ways now and can scoot around when she wants something. She isn't crawling, but it isn't because she doesn't want to. She just can't figure out how, yet.
This is what she managed to do the other day while napping. She turned herself around sideways, and pulled her bumper pad over her head. What a turkey!
Speaking of turkeys, I tried to take a picture of all three of my kids yesterday. This is what I got. Seriously? Give me a break.

Nick is loving on his sister.
Miss Lifeguard surveying all her surroundings.

Harris is such a goober.

Nick is getting REALLY good at cannonballs.

Check him out!

And so ends another week (or two, sorry) of our adventures.

5 months old / July 4

CRAZY HAIR DAY
The boys had crazy hair day at school last week. NICE!!!

BIG GIRL
Cara is such a big girl now. She would rather sit in her booster chair like her brother Harris than in the high chair. Who am I to argue? She also loves chewing on anything, especially her dolly, Paige.

FIVE MONTHS OLD
Cara is five months old now. To celebrate, we got her a chair like her brothers. She loves it as you can see.

Harris would rather have hers now than his because it's bigger.

Cara helping Mommy cook spaghetti.

Hanging out by the pool

At five months old Cara can:

  • roll over
  • sit unsupported
  • reach for things she wants
  • eat solids (even mashed potatoes and gravy) shhh... don't tell her doctor
  • try to take her brothers' toys
  • squeal when you play peek a boo
  • grab her toes and try to put them in her mouth
  • scoot herself around on her back using her feet
  • sit on riding toys and hold on
  • stand to play with her Fisher Price table with a little help for balance
POOL FUN
Here are the boys hanging out in the tropical pool float

It's a family affair
JULY 4TH
For the 4th, we headed out to my parents' lake house for dinner and fireworks. Cara enjoyed riding on Harris's fire truck. Harris DID NOT enjoy watching Cara ride on HIS fire truck.

I wasn't sure if it would be chilly and windy on the boat for the fireworks. I think I might have overdressed little miss.

Nick really enjoyed Big Dan's homemade ice cream.

Harris just enjoyed splashing in the water.

It was a great day spent with loved ones!
