Snow / Christmas 2009 (it's a long one)

WARNING: This post may include pictures of children (boys) without pants and some crude humor. Enjoy!
On December 18, my last day of school before Christmas vacation we got SNOW!!! It was the best day ever. Students were dismissed at 10:15. What a way to start two fantastic weeks off.
However, not everyone in our house enjoyed the winter wonderland.
This is NOT a happy face. I'm thinking it's all the layers she's wearing. Or it could be the boots. Or it could be that she's just ticked off.
All my little snow bunnies. This will be the only picture of Harris in the snow. He feels about snow the same way he feels about sand. It's nice to look at, but he doesn't like to walk in it or touch it.

Nick LOVED the snow. He ran through it every chance he got. He enjoyed sledding and making snow angels. He'll also tell you, "Don't eat the yellow snow."

She's liking it better.

Lauren & Lisa at church

Harris is a sucker whore. It's what we use to bribe him to get his hair cut (it usually takes about 3-4 per visit). If we have them anywhere within his reach, he'll find them and eat them. Here he has TWO suckers that he's eating at the same time.

Christmas with Nana & Pepaw
Harris also demanded that I put his hair up like Cara's for our visit with Nana and Pepaw on Christmas Eve. Yes, that is a dog in his hair.

Nana, Cara, & Pepaw (Cara has Pepaw wrapped very tightly around her finger).

Nick's absolute favorite gift - cowboy boots! Just wait, you'll see them again later.

My little Sumo Wrestler posing with her gift. It kills me how she always sits like this.
TOOLS!!!
Thanks for the hat brother.

Carrington Paige's First Christmas

Nick & Daddy putting Cara's first baby stoller together.

Here I go Mommy!

A few posts ago, I wrote that I HAD to get Cara a pink Christmas tree. Here it is. She loves it. Nick asked if he could have a pink tree too. Maybe next year, we'll get him a small tree for his room.

So... this face tells me I'm in deep poo in a few years. What to you think? We call this her s**t eating, I'm getting ready to do something grin.

Mommy's little Reindeer. Oh yes, they all have Reindeer pjs.

Nick styling in his boots. I really think this is a great look.
My awesome friend Beth gave the kids a Santa plate last year for Christmas. We carried on the tradition and wrote Santa Claus a letter and left him some cookies.

Of course Harris and Nick had to fight over it.

Guess who won.
Both the boys were threatened to NOT take Santa's cookies (not mentioning that Mommy and Daddy would be eating them later after they went to bed). We never imagined that our cookie thief would be little miss Cara. I turned around for a minute and she found the cookies.

If you look in her hands, you'll actually see TWO cookies. And she looks so sweet and innocent. I'm telling you friends, Chris and I are in BIG TROUBLE with this one.

Our Christmas Morning
My little sumo opening her presents.

Nick got a very manly blue Easy Bake Oven because he loves to help me cook.
What holiday would be complete without a pink car?

Did you find anything good in there Harris?
The big gift this year was a 4-wheeler for Nick.

My little Cara Bear got her very own Care Bear.

So I've decided that the games we grew up with just aren't as good. The Game Of Life is just not the same, so we had to buy the "vintage" version. Operation (shown here) is not nearly as cool. What happened to the bones in the body and the really loud buzzing sound it made when you touched the metal. I'm so sad its not the same.

Christmas with Big Dan, Big Mama, Uncle Dan, and Aunt Andrea
Nick and his Big Dan. If you look at Nick's shirt, it says "Naughtly is the New Nice". Well, the boys sure were naughty before we got to the lake that afternoon. While they were suppose to be napping, they decided it would be more fun to FLOOD THEIR BATHROOM. Oh yes, Chris heard a noise and went in to find an inch of water already on the floor. I'm think boot camp is in their futures.

Cara with Aunt Andrea

Daddy, is that a cow on your hat?

Cara did not like her doll at all. She screamed at it and kicked it when I tried to get her to give dolly a hug.

Dora the phone was okay though.

Nick received a REAL Clemson football helmet.
GO TIGERS!!!!

As always, gift giving isn't complete without the gag gifts. This year, we gave my brother a rotten pumpkin that's been sitting on our front porch since October. We even wrapped it up. Just wait DR, there are still 4 more on the porch. You never know when one will turn up.
Harris wanted to pumpkin back.

Uncle Dan with his nephews

Family Picture

Dude, where are your pants?

Harrison got a whoopie cushion for Christmas. It's a fun time watching a two year old with a whoopie cushion.

Our friends Keith and Ashley came over Sunday night. Somehow Harris lost his pants but was still up for some reading.
Could you not just eat her up? Here she is all dressed up for church on Sunday in her $6.00 consignment store dress.
48 weeks old - only a month left and I'll have a one year old.

Oh, did I mention that Mommy got the absolute best gift for Christmas? My precious Cara started walking!!!! We're so proud of her. Ignore the dogs on the video. They're just loud.

I'm afraid this is a preview of what Chris and I have in store for Cara's toddler years. I took her out to the lake so my dad could take her picture for her birthday invitation. Here's one of the outtakes. She isn't crying in this one, but she is not a happy girl.
I hope all of you had as wonderful holiday as we did! See you in 2010!
Happy New Year!

PJs & Performance

HARRISON ELIJAH CADWALLADER!!! Those are the words I yelled when I found this last weekend. Yep, an entire box of Rice Krispies on the floor. Not happy! This comes after the bottle of baby oil on the chair and toothpaste on the floor and cabinets.

Look how cute the boys are in their matching pjs.

Why is it that no child likes to have his picture taken with Santa? This is an example. Cara could care less, Harris is trying to get away, Nick looks bored, and Lauren refused to sit so Lis had to be in the picture. $10.00 and this is the memory I'll have.

My little Snow Girl at 46 Weeks old

I'm not sure what Harris will be helping Santa with this year.

Last week, Cara went to her first girly birthday party with Mommy and no brothers. Her friend Lizzie from daycare turned one year old. Here's Lizzie's older sister Neely pushing Cara around.

She was way more interested in the bows.

Mmm, this one tastes good.

All the children. Lizzie is on the firetruck.

Polar Express Day at Abernethy.

Nick didn't get to stay in his PJs all day because he had trouble listening. Poor Nick.

You may begin to see a common theme in Harris's pictures. This is the pose he likes to make for the camera.

Kids in a box. Toys NOT in the box.

So Cara loves corn. I mean Cara REALLY LOVES CORN!!!

Notice the corn in her EAR!!!

I just couldn't resist dressing them all alike. Aren't they cute?

Thursday, Dec. 17 was Abernethy's annual Christmas program. We were lifers this time. Cara was the first performance and Nick was the last. Parents leave after their child performs, but we were there for the entire time.

Cara was a snowman. She didn't feel very well that night though.

Cara's friend Chatham (and Mommy's friend Carrie).

Lauren

Here's Harris. All the other children were singing and Harris started growling. Of course, the other kids started growling too.
Ringing his bell. He hit his friend Jack in the face he got so excited.

Nick performing in his last (so sad) performance at Abernethy. He spoke "C is for the Christ child who laid in a manger of hay". Of course he spoke so quickly I don't think anyone heard him.

Miss Cara watching her brothers' perfomances.

Afterwards, Harrison got a big hug from a very proud Big Mama.

Nick got a hug from his very proud Big Dan.

Pepaw holding a very sleepy little girl.

We finally just laid her on the pew.

Friday was my last day of school before Christmas vacation. Fortunately we had SNOW!!! We're going to take the kids out to play, so I'll update our snow pictures later.
