Chicken Boy / Week 36

Not a lot going on this week. I went back to work, so I've been crazy busy. Nick had chicken for dinner the other night, but he kept clucking and shaking his head with it hanging out of his mouth. He's an interesting child.

Week 36 -
Harris is about 6 lbs now and 19 inches long. He'll be considered full term next week. We had a doctor's appointment this past week. Harris has turned himself head down (yea!). Amazingly, I have dialated one centimeter and am 50% effaced. That was a HUGE shock since I had not done anything when I was induced at 41 weeks with Nick. I've been on my feet most of the week getting ready for school to start on Monday. That probably has something to do with it. I also feel like I've started to drop. Who knows - maybe this little boy will decide to come on his own.

Fun with Daddy / Nick's 2nd B-day / Week 35

Wow, this was a busy week!!! Mommy's friend Lisa had Baby Lauren. I can't wait for her to come play.

Daddy and I played with chalk outside and had a contest to see who could jump the farthest.

I've also got a new obsession, my blankie. Mommy calls me Linus because I like to drag my blanket all over the house.

The best part of this week was that I turned TWO on Saturday. All my friends came over for a pool party. It was AWESOME!!!

Come on Zach, you can do it!

Okay Aunt Amanda, whatcha doing with the noodle?

Daddy looks so silly!

Amanda, you're suppose to eat cupcakes with your MOUTH!

Big Dan and Big Mama

Nana and Pepaw

Aunt Andrea and Uncle Dan

Ooh, presents!!!

I can do a slam dunk.

Week 35-
Harris is about 18-18 1/2 inches long and weighs around 5 1/2 lbs. His lungs are fully mature and if he were born now he'd have a 99% chance of survival.

Cupcake / New Fish / Week 34

I let Nick help me make a cake for Chris the other day. We made a few cupcakes for Nick while we were at it. I think he liked them.

Nick is turning TWO on Saturday, August 18! He's been asking for some fish, so we went to Petsmart and bought him a tank, 4 new fish, and a snail. He loves them. Luckily, the tank is up high in his room and has a lid because he keeps putting his hand in the tank to catch them. We've named our fish Nick Nick, Lisa, Amanda, and Fishy - the snail is named Slimey. I guess that's all the originality you can get from a two year old.

Nick LOVES Prayer Dog. He keeps pushing the button and playing the prayer over and over and over.

Week 34 -
I had a doctor's appointment on Thursday. Weight gain is still steady, but not too much, and my blood pressure is perfect. Harris's heartrate is 141 bpm. Dr. Faruque couldn't tell how he was turned, so she might do a sonogram next time to see if he's facing head down. When I voiced my concern about this and my NOT wanting a C-section, she said that in most women there was only a 50% chance of being able to turn the baby. In my case though, she was 75-85% sure she could turn him before birth. I guess we'll cross that bridge in another few weeks. I've felt Harris hiccuping several times since Thursday in my lower pelvic area, and he's been kicking the crap out of my ribs. I'm assuming for now he's turned himself back around with his head down. Keep your fingers crossed that he stays that way for the next 6 weeks.

Feeding the Dogs & Goats / Sibling's Hospital Tour / Week 33

Nick's been a busy boy this week. He decided to help feed the dogs and dumped an entire 5 gallon bucket of dog food on the floor so he could "help". What a mess!

Our latest visit to Tweetsie brought a new adventure - the petting zoo. Nick loved feeding the goats and deer. He also got a little too close and let a goat give him a kiss. YUCK!!!

On Saturday, we all went to Frye Hospital for the Sibling's Tour. Nick got to help change a baby's diaper. He was so excited. He also got to dress up in scrubs and see where Harris will be sleeping in the hospital nursery.

One new trick he learned at Big Dan and Big Mama's house is to ride the sit-n-spin. This keeps him very busy.

Week 33 -

Harris weighs between 4 1/2 - 5 lbs and is about 17 1/2 - 18 inches long. He can firmly grasp objects and opens and closes his eyes when he's awake and sleeping.
