Parade, & Lake Fun - July 4, 2010

On July 2, the children had their annual Independence Day parade at Abernethy. I didn't get to go, but Carrie took pictures for me. THANKS!
Here's Cara with her star hat on.
As soon as she started marching, her hat fell in her eyes and stayed there.
Ms. Jessica walked with Cara and Chatham leading the parade.
Nick sporting his red, white and blue creation.

Harrison was excited.

My little red, white and blue cutie.

On Sunday, we headed to the lake for our annual July 4th celebration and cookout. This year, the Donley's went with us. It was Chatham's first time wearing a life jacket. He was a trooper and loved everything about the water.

Devin

Carrie and Devin took Chatham out for a ride on the jet ski. He waved at all the people passing by him.

Chris took Nick, Cara, and me on a ride while Harris went on the boat with Big Dan.

Harris eventually realized what he had been missing.

Once we got the kiddos back on the dock, Carrie and I felt the need for speed.

TOPHIE

Nick wanted to go tubing.

Do you think he had fun?

Cara was as content as she could be just swinging away.

This is my absolute favorite picture! Check out Devin! This is about 3 seconds before he dumped himself and Carrie off. She was NOT pleased.

OOPS!!!
Devin is laughing while Carrie is calling him a few choice words.
Cara was done and ready for some dinner.
Rub a dub dub - Chatham and Cara in the tub.

Yes, Carrie and I had to climb in to the tub to get all the children bathed. NO, I'm not drinking! It's the cup for rinsing the kids.

Practicing their piano skills.

Hopefully, Chatham will be just like his Grandfather Scott and be an accomplished pianist.

"GIVE US FOOD!"

Nick decided he wanted to hula hoop. Carrie offered to show him how. The only problem is that she CAN'T.

Neither could Chris.

However, my 61 year old MOTHER could hula hoop with the best of them. Thanks Big Mama!

Nick and his shadow. If only we could get Nick to teach him good choices.
After dinner came my favorite part of the evening. We took Dad's boat out to the middle of the lake to watch fireworks. The sun setting on the water was breathtaking.
Cara wasn't too sure about it, but she had blankie which makes everything okay.

Chatham just relaxed and enjoyed the show.

And she's OUT!

Another wonderful 4th with family and friends!
